About WILSON YIP

​

An award-winning and multi-skilled Film & Creative Director, Wilson has worked extensively with international and local artistes, established advertising agencies, as well as major TV and corporate clients for over 18 years.

 

Wilson’s works run the gamut in range and genres - from narratives, commercials to TV brandings. His unique brand of romanticism, compelling visual style and technique are evident in the majority of his VFX-laced works. A promo video he conceptualized and directed for Oppo R17 Pro (Vietnam) has so far garnered over 8 million views on Youtube. His inspiring short film “Dakota” clinched both Gold & Silver awards at the 2017 Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards, adding to his collection of Gold, Silver and Bronze awards won at Promax Global/Asia and New York Festivals in recent years. The commissioned short “Shooting Pamelyn Chee” premiered at the World Expo 2010 in Shanghai, while the narratives “Happiness Is” and “Madam Chan” have competed internationally, winning awards in Berlin, Paris and Singapore.

 

An honors graduate from Chapman University’s film school in California, the musically inclined filmmaker has also dabbled in music - his popular Hokkien song “Xiu Na Chuay” being one of the highlights in the Singapore feature film “Eating Air”.
